Myeloma is an incurable blood cancer originating in the bone marrow. It is a complex cancer which can make it difficult for healthcare professionals to recognise and diagnose. Living with a diagnosis of myeloma can place a huge physical and emotional strain on the people it affects. Myeloma UK is the only organisation in the UK dealing exclusively with myeloma. Myeloma UK understands its complexities, and the impact living with a diagnosis of myeloma can have on patients, families and carers. Patients come first in everything they do. The determination to support them unites the Myeloma UK team and underpins their goals: to empower patients and their families, inform and influence policy, educate healthcare professionals and improve treatment and care. The work doesn’t stop there – patients need new solutions now. Myeloma UK channel this sense of urgency towards finding a cure. Alongside their network of dedicated research partners they are breaking new ground.
My husband had and fought Myeloma for 10 years, during this time he had numerous chemotherapy regimes, a variety of treatments, operations and complications including taking part in 4 clinical trials some of these funding by Myeloma UK.
In 2019 'The Prodigy' kindly endorsed these bracelets, a big thank you.
